Dip Spin and Centrifuge
In order to achieve the best results with Torque 'N' Tension products, application by either dip spin or centrifuge is recommended.
TORQUE 'N' TENSION CONTROL FLUIDS
Torque'N'Tension Control Fluids apply a dry lubricating film to the surface of parts, especially threaded fasteners which have been protected from corrosion by sacrificial or barrier coatings, i.e. electroplating, mechanical plating or mechanical galvanizing, hop dip galvanizing, or organic or inorganic coatings.
The object of this lubrication is to decrease the coefficient of friction and to
control the tension obtainable with a given torque upon assembly.
The fluids are available with a UV tracer, or in blue or green film colors to aid identification.

Sealer with integrated lubricant for zinc and zinc alloy passivated films. It is designed to meet specifications requiring coefficient of friction properties between 0.08 – 0.11. It is particularly suited to thread forming screws used in grounding applications along with many others which require a low CoF.
Torque'N'Tension 08 also significantly improves the corrosion performance of the plated coating. Components treated with Torque'N'Tension 08 will retain this excellent corrosion resistance even after thermal shock treatment.
Supplied as a ready to use liquid. It is usually applied by a one step immersion process. It can be applied over all electroplated or mechanically plated zinc & zinc alloy deposits, including zinc-nickel. The Torque'N'Tension 08 film contains a UV tracer. This means that the presence of the coating can be verified by detection under ultraviolet light
Sealer with integrated lubricant for zinc and zinc alloy passivated films. It is designed to meet specifications requiring coefficient of friction properties between 0.09 – 0.13. Torque'N'Tension 11 also significantly improves the corrosion performance of the plated coating. Components treated with Torque'N'Tension 11 will retain this excellent corrosion resistance even after thermal shock treatment.
Supplied as a ready to use liquid. It is usually applied by a one step immersion process. It can be applied over all electroplated or mechanically plated zinc & zinc alloy deposits, including zinc-nickel.
The Torque'N'Tension 11 film contains a UV tracer. This means that the presence of the coating can be verified by detection under ultraviolet light.
Torque'N'Tension 12 is a clear water-based sealer for application onto fasteners in order to modify the torque tension properties. It is designed to meet specifications requiring coefficient of friction properties between 0.10 – 0.13 and is suitable for use on clear or black passivation systems following zinc-nickel electroplating.
Torque'N'Tension 12 is supplied as a ready to use low viscosity liquid that can be applied by dip spin to limit thread fill problems and unwanted wastage by dragout. The Torque'N'Tension 12 film contains a UV tracer.
Sealer with integrated lubricant for zinc and zinc alloy passivated films. It is designed to meet specifications requiring coefficient of friction properties between 0.12 – 0.18. Torque'N'Tension 15 also significantly improves the corrosion performance of the plated coating. Components treated with Torque'N'Tension 15 will retain this excellent corrosion resistance even after thermal shock treatment.
Supplied as a ready to use liquid. It is usually applied by a one step immersion process. It can be applied over all electroplated or mechanicallyTorque n tension 15 plated zinc & zinc alloy deposits, including zinc-nickel. The Torque'N'Tension 15 film contains a UV tracer. This means that the presence of the coating can be verified by detection under ultraviolet light.
Torque'N'Tension 18 is a sealer with integrated torque-tension modifier for zinc and zinc alloy passivated films. It is designed to achieve a k-factor between 0.15 and 0.21 according to ISO 16047 using high hardness Steel bearing surface and Class 10 nut.
Torque'N'Tension 18 also significantly improves the corrosion performance. Components treated with Torque'N'Tension 18 will retain this excellent corrosion resistance even after thermal shock treatment.
JS 600 improves the corrosion resistance and coefficient of friction properties on most electroplated and mechanical plated parts and threaded fasteners. JS 600 coated zinc finishes are able to replace environmentally hazardous cadmium finishes in many applications. JS 600 is a water-based product which can be incorporated into most plating lines.
When applied over a zinc plated coating (minimum thickness 8um) JS 600 should achieve or exceed 96 hours to first white corrosion and 500 hours to first red corrosion when tested in neutral salt spray to ASTM B117. This corrosion resistance is maintained even after thermal shock testing.
JS 600 can be applied over trivalent-based passivates to give extended corrosion protection. This important factor means that JS 600 can be used easily and economically to give high performance corrosion-resistant coatings free from hexavalent chrome.
The JS 600 process is sold on a license basis to ensure proper application and performance. JS 600 has a built-in UV tracer for easy identification of treated parts.
